Create a Slack app
Create an app for your workspace from Slack's app dashboard. Diali tells you exactly which fields it needs.
Grant the scopes
Add the bot scopes for reading and posting messages. Slack lists them plainly before you approve anything.
Install to your workspace
Install the app, then invite the bot into the channels it should answer in.
Questions people ask
You need permission to install an app in the workspace. On many workspaces that means an admin approves it once. Your assistant only reaches the channels somebody invites it into.
The channels it has been invited to, and direct messages sent to it. It cannot read a private channel it is not in, and it cannot read another person's DMs.
Diali does not use the content of your conversations to train AI models. Your assistant needs a message to answer it, and that is where it ends.
